The Countering Exploitation Programme (CEP) is the Home Office’s international programme which seeks to combat modern slavery and online child sexual abuse and exploitation overseas. It newly unites the existing Modern Slavery Fund and the UK’s contribution to the Global Fund to End Violence Against Children to take a holistic approach to tackling exploitation. The CEP is comprised of two funds: 1. The UK’s contribution to the Safe Online Portfolio of the Global Fund to End Violence Against Children (EVAC), which invests in solutions, technologies, and capacities to tackle online child sexual exploitation, as part of its wider ambition to secure a future where children do not experience violence in any setting, anywhere in the world. • The Modern Slavery Fund (MSF), which seeks to reduce the prevalence of modern slavery in the UK and overseas. This includes bilateral programmes in focus countries, including Viet Nam and Albania and the Modern Slavery Innovation Fund (MSIF), which prevents and reduces vulnerability to exploitation; prevents and remedies forced labour in UK supply chains; and fills gaps in the global evidence base of ‘what works’ to combat modern slavery.
