Department for International Development has made up to £10 million available for technical assistance to support Defra target countries: Indonesia is one of these countries. This project will help build the monitoring and analytical capacity, both in equipment and technical expertise, for the Indonesian government. Indonesia is the 2nd biggest contributer of mis-managed plastic waste in the world (1) and have pledged a 70% reduction in marine waste by 2025 (2). There are three work packages (WPs) within this project: * WP1: Perception study. * WP2: Procuring and setting-up two microplastics analysis laboratories, including providing training in their use. * WP3: Funding for five Indonesian officals to attend the Singapore Marine Litter Conference, 5-7 Dec 2018.
